Help improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across East Gippsland. Join a dedicated Aboriginal Health Unit where you'll build trusted community connections, advocate for clients help remove barriers to culturally safe health and support services. Working alongside community members, ACCHOs and healthcare teams, you'll make a meaningful difference every day.

 

The Contract: Ongoing Part Time | 64 hours per fortnight

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients to navigate health and community services.
  • Advocate for culturally safe, accessible care.
  • Build partnerships with community and service providers.
  • Connect people with supports that promote independence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across BRHS.

 

The Position:

This rewarding community-focused role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing barriers to healthcare and community services. Using a strengths-based approach, you'll help clients and families access the services they need while working alongside community organisations and healthcare providers to improve long-term health and wellbeing outcomes.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualification in Community Services, Aboriginal Health, Nursing or equivalent experience.
  • Strong connection to local Aboriginal communities.
  • Experience supporting Aboriginal people and families.
  • Proven advocacy and relationship-building skills.
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
