Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Emergency Department on a fixed‑term, part‑time basis. This role will suit an experienced emergency nurse with a passion for senior clinical leadership, high‑acuity care coordination and supporting teams to deliver safe, high‑quality patient outcomes in a fast‑paced regional setting. The position provides leadership backfill while current ANUMs are acting in the Nurse Unit Manager role during a period of secondment, offering an excellent opportunity to develop leadership capability while enjoying the exceptional lifestyle of the Gippsland Lakes region.
The Contract: Fixed Term, Part Time, 64 hours per fortnight (until 27th September 2026)
The Opportunity
Working closely with the acting Nurse Unit Manager and the broader Emergency leadership team, you will provide senior clinical leadership across the department, supporting patient flow, workforce coordination and person‑centred care. You will coordinate shifts, mentor and support nursing staff, manage resources, and contribute to continuous improvement and service excellence within the Emergency Department.

What We’re Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years’ recent Emergency or Critical Care nursing experience
- Postgraduate Emergency or Critical Care qualification (essential)
- Proven emergency clinical leadership and care coordination capability
- Advanced high‑acuity nursing and assessment skills
- Strong communication, prioritisation and leadership skills in high‑pressure environments
