Are you a passionate and compassionate professional with a special interest in diabetes education? An exciting opportunity is now available at BRHS, the largest employer and healthcare provider in East Gippsland, to join our Community Nursing Team as a Diabetes Educator.

Contract: Casual position
The Position:
In this role at BRHS you will place the person with diabetes at the centre of their care, performing individual health assessments, monitoring and education on a variety of issues pertaining to diabetes management. Your care will support and empower people to become informed of issues affecting their health, enabling them to accept and share responsibility in recognising their own health needs and make choices that are relevant/appropriate to their life situation. You will work in partnership with community General Practitioners and allied health care providers. The role requires flexibility to provide outreach services as required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- A Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management, along with Credentialled Diabetes Educator status (or currently working towards accreditation).
- Advanced knowledge of diabetes management with the ability to deliver effective client education to individuals and groups.
- An understanding of community and cultural health challenges.
- Excellent communication, including with low health literacy clients and diverse professionals.
