Hospital Cook

Join Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) and bring your cooking expertise to a rewarding healthcare environment. As part of our Food Services team, you'll prepare high-quality, nutritious meals that support the health and wellbeing of patients, aged care residents and clients across our organisation.

The Contract: Part Time, Fixed Term | 64 hours per fortnight until 3 January 2028 | $2,630 per fortnight pro rata plus superannuation

Casual positions are also available. Hourly Casual Rate: $34.60 per hour plus casual loading

We offer flexibility across a 14-day roster, with shifts scheduled between:

• 6:30am to 3:00pm
• 9:00am to 5:30pm
• 10:30am to 7:00pm

The Role:

Working as part of the BRHS Food Services team, you will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with the BRHS Food Safety Program and Healthy Choices Guidelines. You will support the delivery of safe, nutritious food for patients, aged care residents and clients while ensuring compliance with food safety requirements and specialised dietary needs.

What You’ll Bring:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of all cooking methods.
• At least 2 years experience in bulk catering, healthcare, aged care or institutional kitchens.
• Current Safe Food Handling Certificate with knowledge of Food Safety Programs, HACCP and food safety compliance.
• Creativity, teamwork and a commitment to exceptional food and service.
