Lead a dedicated team supporting clinicians and services across BRHS as our Medical Workforce Unit Manager.
An exciting leadership opportunity exists for an experienced workforce, HR or health administration professional to lead the Medical Workforce Unit at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. This pivotal role provides administrative leadership and operational oversight of medical workforce functions, supporting safe, sustainable and high‑quality medical services across the organisation. If you enjoy leading people, improving systems and working closely with senior clinicians and executives in a dynamic healthcare environment, this role offers both challenge and impact.
The Contract: Full Time, Ongoing, 80 hours per fortnight with ADO
The Position
The Medical Workforce Unit Manager provides leadership and direction to the Medical Workforce Unit, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, rostering, payroll coordination, accreditation support and workforce planning for junior and senior medical staff.
Working closely with the Operational Director Medical Workforce and Dental Services, Executive Director Medical Services and key clinical stakeholders, the role ensures medical workforce systems, processes and compliance requirements are met efficiently, accurately and within budget.
This position leads a small, dedicated team and plays a key role in strengthening medical workforce sustainability, staff experience and service delivery outcomes.
The Team
The Medical Workforce Unit sits within the Medical Services Directorate and supports medical staff across the organisation through recruitment, placement, rostering, training coordination, accreditation, credentialing and welfare support. The team works closely with Medical Education, People & Culture, Clinical Directors, executive leaders and external agencies to support a high‑quality medical workforce.

What You Bring
- Experience in workforce, HR or business administration, preferably healthcare
- Proven people leadership and team management capability
- Knowledge of medical workforce operations, including recruitment and rostering
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent organisation, judgement and problem-solving skills
