Maddocks Gardens is a welcoming and community‑focused residential aged care facility within Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS). Recognised for excellence in aged care, we deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care that supports the wellbeing, dignity and independence of our residents. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager – Aged Care to provide strong clinical and people leadership within our purpose‑built 90‑bed residential aged care facility.

 

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Aged Care and working in close collaboration with a second Nurse Unit Manager – Aged Care who oversees 58 residents in the Banksia and Bluegum wings, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, contemporary residential care within Sutherland, which is a secure, 32 resident Memory Support Unit. You will bring expertise in working aligned with the Aged Care Quality Standards and best practice nursing principles.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clinical leadership and oversight of care delivery within your allocated wing
  • Coaching, mentoring and supporting nursing and care teams
  • Workforce planning and resource coordination
  • Clinical governance, quality improvement and AN‑ACC oversight
  • Promoting a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Acting in relief for the General Manager – Aged Care as required

 

About You

You are a confident and compassionate leader with a genuine commitment to aged care.

You will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Minimum 5 years’ residential aged care experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of aged care legislation and quality frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisational and people leadership skills
