Contract: Fixed Term, Part Time – 56 hours per fortnight

 

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Theatre Technician to join our Perioperative Services team on a fixed-term, part-time basis (until 8th November 2026). This role is essential to ensuring the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of perioperative care at BRHS.

 

About the Role

  • Working as part of our multidisciplinary theatre team, the Theatre Technician provides vital support across elective, emergency and endoscopy services. Key responsibilities include:
  • Transporting and transferring patients safely
  • Restocking and locating clinical supplies
  • Setting up, connecting and troubleshooting theatre equipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining operating theatres and equipment
  • Assisting with patient positioning under clinical direction

 

Depending on skills, experience and qualifications, appointment may be made at Grade 1 through Grade 4. Grade One position description is attached here.  Please speak to the Hiring Manager for a copy of Grade 2-4 position descriptions.

 

About You

  • We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
  • A Theatre Technician qualification or experience in the role
  • A good understanding of the role of a Theatre Technician
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced perioperative environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
