Latrobe Regional Health is looking for CNC (Diabetes Education) to join our growing on a casual ongoing basis.

 

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Diabetes Education) provides clinical leadership and expert advice within the diabetes speciality, supporting patients, families, and carers to achieve optimal health outcomes. This role delivers comprehensive diabetes education, initiates assessment and care planning, and acts as a resource for specialised diabetes management across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role of the Clinical Nurse Consultant (Diabetes Education) is to:

  • Deliver diabetes education and support for patients, families, carers, and across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting best practice and supporting professional development.
  • Facilitate policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to research activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with legislation, standards and LRH policies.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse with AHPRA and post graduate qualification in Diabetes Education or working towards.
    • Working towards credentialling would be highly regarded but is not required.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in diabetes management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and support staff while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Competent in window-based applications and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and passionate about improving patient outcomes.
