Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Nurse Practitioner Candidate to join our growing team on an ongoing full-time basis.

 

About the Role

 

As a Nurse Practitioner Candidate, you will work in an advanced nursing practice capacity, delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care within a multidisciplinary community team.

 

You will:

  • Conduct specialist mental health assessments, diagnosis, and interventions
  • Deliver evidence-based treatment and care planning for diverse populations
  • Strengthen referral pathways and collaborate with primary care, hospitals, and community services
  • Provide education and consultation to consumers, carers, and healthcare providers
  • Support integrated, person-centred care across the service system
  • Contribute to leadership, service development, and quality improvement initiatives

 

You will work within your Registered Nurse scope while completing the required 5,000 advanced practice hours and other criteria for Nurse Practitioner endorsement.

About you

 

You are a compassionate and adaptable clinician with strong leadership capability and a commitment to mental health care excellence.

 

Essential:

 

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1 or 3 with psychiatric qualification) with AHPRA
  • Master of Nursing / Nurse Practitioner (or working toward / willing to enrol)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health nursing
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and decision-making ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and national standards

 

Desirable:

 

  • Additional postgraduate qualifications
  • Experience in research, quality improvement, or project work
  • Membership with a professional nursing organisation
