Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Allied Health Clinical Educator (Physiotherapy) to join our growing team on a part time (0.5EFT) ongoing basis.

 

The Allied Health Clinical Educator (Physiotherapy) plays a pivotal role in supporting undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students and early-career clinicians by delivering high-quality, learner-centred education aligned with the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment (BPCLE). Reporting to the Education Manager, this role designs, facilitates and evaluates a wide range of clinical education and professional development activities in consultation with Physiotherapy and Education leadership. The position contributes to building placement capability, supporting interdisciplinary learning opportunities and ensuring physiotherapy education frameworks align with organisational values, quality standards and workforce development priorities.

The role of the Allied Health Clinical Educator (Physiotherapy) is to:

  • Facilitate and coordinate clinical experience programs for physiotherapy students, including undergraduate and postgraduate placements and Placeright processing.
  • Provide professional and clinical support to physiotherapy students and graduate learners, ensuring education aligns with BPCLE principles and frameworks.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate education programs using sound adult learning principles, ensuring learner-centred approaches and continuous improvement.
  • Support physiotherapy clinicians to deliver quality student experiences, including facilitating advancing clinical education workshops and capability-building initiatives.
  • Coordinate key education programs including the Allied Health Smart Moves (AHSM) manual handling program and the Physiotherapy Department Inservice Program.
  • Collaborate with the broader education team to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities and contribute to organisation-wide education strategies.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current AHPRA Registration and relevant postgraduate experience in physiotherapy and clinical education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in education and clinical teaching.
  • Broad experience in clinical education within physiotherapy or interdisciplinary allied health settings, with the ability to mentor and support learners effectively.
  • Leadership, initiative and self-direction in designing and delivering education programs and supporting clinician capability development.
  • Tertiary qualifications in education or clinical education, or progress toward such qualifications, and experience in interdisciplinary staff education and development (desirable).
