Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Assistant Accountant to join our growing team on a full-time or part time fixed term basis until 28 February 2027.
Join our Finance team as an Assistant Accountant and contribute to delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial services for LRH. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual eager to learn and develop their career in accounting within a supportive team environment.

The role of the Assistant Accountant is:
- Assist in maintaining an accurate General Ledger, including processing journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support the Financial Accounting team with asset, lease, and capital improvement registers in line with accounting standards.
- Assist with reviewing monthly operating results and provide routine financial analysis to support budget holders.
- Contribute to the preparation of hospital budgets, financial reports, and acquittals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and public health financial policies.
- Provide accurate financial support and undertake other accounting duties as directed.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Experience working within a finance team or commitment to developing a career in accounting through study.
- Strong willingness to learn, adapt and take initiative.
- Competent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, experience with Oracle or similar systems (desirable).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or progression towards CA or CPA (desirable).
