We’re seeking motivated and experienced nurses to join our leadership team as Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUMs) in a full-time ongoing capacity. This is your chance to lead within a supportive and collaborative environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
About the Unit
The Nicholson Rehabilitation Unit is a 30-bed ward comprising 26 rehabilitation beds and 4 dedicated palliative care beds. The unit provides specialised, high-level clinical care to patients requiring intensive rehabilitation and palliative support, making it a highly rewarding area for nurses committed to holistic, person-focused care.
About the Role
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in the Nicholson Rehabilitation Unit, you will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team environment.
You will support the Nurse Unit Manager in the operational management of the unit, ensuring that care aligns with current best practice standards and is delivered efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, supporting and mentoring nursing staff, and maintaining a strong focus on quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide clinical leadership, guidance and mentorship to nursing staff

Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives

Assist with rostering, resource allocation, and time and attendance

Ensure patient safety, high-quality care and adherence to clinical standards

Contribute to policy and protocol implementation and compliance

Participate in performance development and management
-
Collaborate in managing patient flow and optimising discharge planning

Foster a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with LRH values

Support staff wellbeing, professional development and workforce capability
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)

Recent clinical experience in rehabilitation, palliative or acute care
-
Sound clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
-
Leadership potential and the ability to motivate and guide others
-
Strong time management, communication and problem-solving skills
-
Knowledge of relevant workplace legislation and enterprise agreements
-
A commitment to continuous improvement and safe practice
