Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Associate Nurse Unit Manager Emergency to join our growing team on an either full time or part time ongoing.

 

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager Emergency supports the effective management and coordination of the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit, ensuring safe, high-quality care and optimal patient flow. The role is responsible for responding to fluctuations in clinical demand, allocating resources appropriately, and maintaining a positive experience for patients and families. The ANUM contributes to departmental leadership, clinical excellence, and the achievement of ED performance objectives.

The role of the Associate Nurse Unit Manager Emergency is to:

  • Provide clinical leadership by thinking critically, analysing nursing practice, and supporting professional and therapeutic relationships within the team.
  • Conduct comprehensive and systematic assessments, analysing and communicating information to guide safe, evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring documentation and communication meet professional standards.
  • Delegate and deliver responsive, ethical and high-quality nursing care based on systematic assessment, agreed outcomes and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Support staff safety, wellbeing and professional development while assisting with human resource, administrative and operational requirements in the NUM’s absence.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), with appropriate ED clinical skills, recent experience, and current competence in Basic and Advanced Life Support.
  • High-level decision-making, time management and adherence to safe practice standards and policies.
  • Commitment to customer-service, quality improvement and Continuum of Care standards.
  • Ability to manage the unit in the absence of the NUM and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a proactive approach to organisational change, service demands and continuous development for self and others.
