Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a ANUM to join our growing team on an ongoing part-time basis.

About the Role

As Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a key role in clinical leadership, service coordination,

and operational management within the unit. You will support the delivery of person-centred care, promote recovery focused practice, and ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and quality standards.

You will lead staff in implementing best practice mental health care, including the Optimal Health Program, while driving initiatives that reduce restrictive interventions and improve consumer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Support the Nurse Unit Manager with staffing, resource management, and daily operations
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and consumer focused care
• Promote open and transparent communication with consumers, carers, and stakeholders
• Support staff through supervision, mentoring, and performance development
• Ensure compliance with mental health legislation, national standards, and organisational policies
• Contribute to audits, reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Oversee clinical documentation and ensure accurate and compliant record keeping
• Promote a safe working environment and adherence to occupational health and safety requirements
• Support service development and implementation of improvement initiatives

About you

You are an experienced and confident mental health nurse leader who thrives in a complex environment. You bring strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to recovery focused care and continuous improvement.

You demonstrate integrity, compassion, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to team-based care.

Key Requirements

• Registered Nurse Division 1 with postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Demonstrated experience in senior clinical leadership roles
• Strong understanding of mental health legislation, standards, and service delivery frameworks
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff
• Highly developed communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Commitment to recovery focused practice and reducing restrictive interventions
• Current Victorian Driver Licence
