Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Clerical Support Officer - HIP to join our growing team on a Part time (FTE 0.4) ongoing basis.

 

We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused HIP Clerical Support Officer to provide administrative and reception support across Health Independence Programs (HARP, RIR, SACS and TCP). This role is critical in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the service by delivering accurate data entry, efficient patient administration, and responsive customer service to support high-quality patient care.

The role of the HIP Clerical Support Officer is to:

  • Provide high-quality reception and administrative support, including welcoming clients, managing appointments, and handling enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Accurately process patient admissions, discharges, and clinical data using systems such as iPM and S2S, ensuring compliance with organisational procedures.
  • Prepare and manage documentation, including correspondence, reports, meeting agendas and minutes in line with organisational standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient records through filing, data entry, and information management while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate day-to-day clerical functions including mail distribution, phone management, ordering supplies, and general office tasks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support service delivery, meet team goals, and provide a high standard of customer-focused care.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Experienced administration professional with strong clerical, organisational, and data entry skills, ideally within a healthcare or service environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and patient management systems (e.g. iPM, S2S), with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and welcoming approach to patients, families, and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently, using initiative and sound judgement.
  • Committed to confidentiality, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality customer service aligned with organisational values.
