Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Midwifery Educator to join our dedicated Education and Training Unit. This position is on an ongoing, part time basis of 64 hours per fortnight.

 

The Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) on our Thomas Ward, is responsible for motivating our workforce in the delivery of excellence for clinical and professional standards. Utilising their professional experience and knowledge of health education, our CME works closely with the leadership team to drive learning/teaching programs and projects to support LRH's clinical and strategic objectives for the people in the Maternity Unit, and Birth Suite's, while maintaining collaborative partnerships with the Special Care Nursey (SCN) and Antenatal Clinic. 

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA). 
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualification.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent is desirable. 
  • Advanced Life Support competency (adult, paediatric, neonate) is desirable. 
  • Evidence of recent clinical experience in a relevant high acuity settings. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years post registration experience. 
  • Thorough understanding of the National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse. 
  • Experience in delivering training and/or mentoring of others. 
  • Sound interprofessional collaboration skills.
