Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for Mental Health Clinician 26yrs+ to join our growing team on a full-time permanent basis.

In this role, you will provide high-quality, recovery-oriented care to adults experiencing acute mental health episodes, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will support consumers, carers, and families throughout their journey, providing evidence-based assessment, treatment, and therapeutic interventions within a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive framework.

The role of the Mental Health Clinician is:

  • Conduct urgent and routine mental health assessments, including risk and safety planning.
  • Deliver evidence-based pharmacological and therapeutic interventions.
  • Work within a recovery-focused model, incorporating the lived experience of consumers.
  • Collaborate with carers, families, and community organisations to support consumer needs.
  • Participate in care planning, clinical documentation, and discharge planning.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement, audits, and policy compliance.
  • Maintain clinical competence through supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Work within a 7-day roster, supporting both community and bed-based services.

 

Ideal candidates for this role would be a:

  • Registered Nurse with post-basic mental health qualification and AHPRA registration, or
  • Approved degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy with relevant registration.

 

You will have (Desirable): 

  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in the mental health field.
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, National Standards for Mental Health Services, and NSQHS Standards.
  • Sound clinical skills and ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of mental health systems across primary and tertiary services.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Awareness of Royal Commission into Mental Health recommendations.
  • Experience with alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment and the Guardianship and Administration Board.
  • Familiarity with Mental Health Act processes (assessment orders, variations, etc.).
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License.
