Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Community Op Shop Coordinator to join our growing on a part time (0.6EFT) ongoing basis. Initial work days as Wednesday to Friday. With plans for this role to work Thursday to Saturday once the Op Shop is opened on Saturdays.

The Community Op Shop Coordinator is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the LRH Community Op Shop, ensuring a safe, welcoming and professionally managed retail environment that reflects the values and standards of Latrobe Regional Health. The role provides operational leadership and support to volunteers while overseeing customer service, donations, stock management, merchandising, cash handling and shop presentation.

Working closely with the Community Giving Manager and Community Engagement & Volunteer Services teams, the Coordinator plays an important role in maximising the Op Shop’s fundraising contribution while creating a positive experience for customers, donors and volunteers.

The role of the Community Op Shop Coordinator is to:

• Coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of the Community Op Shop, including opening and closing procedures, daily priorities and maintaining a safe, organised and welcoming retail environment.
• Provide positive leadership, guidance and support to volunteers, including task allocation, training, mentoring and recognition of contributions.
• Oversee donations, stock processing, pricing, merchandising and stock rotation to maximise sales and fundraising outcomes.
• Deliver high‑quality customer and donor service while supporting volunteers to manage enquiries and challenging situations appropriately.
• Manage daily cash handling, EFTPOS reconciliation, operational records and reporting in accordance with established procedures.
• Promote safety, cleanliness and continuous improvement by maintaining housekeeping standards, addressing operational issues and supporting compliance with LRH policies and procedures.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

• Experience in retail, customer service or a similar operational environment with responsibility for day‑to‑day coordination of people and activities.
• Strong leadership capability, including experience supporting, coaching or supervising volunteers or team members.
• Experience in cash handling, EFTPOS transactions, stock management and maintaining attractive retail displays.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation, safety and customer service.
• A flexible, positive and practical approach with a passion for supporting community engagement and fundraising outcomes.
• Qualifications in retail, business, volunteer coordination or community services, and experience in charity retail, not‑for‑profit organisations or volunteer management (desirable).
