Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Community Participation Officer to join our growing team on a either part time or full time ongoing.

 

We are seeking a passionate Community Participation Officer to join our Engagement team. This role is central to building strong connections between the hospital and the community, creating opportunities for individuals and groups to engage as donors, volunteers, and advocates. You will support fundraising campaigns, volunteer programs, and community partnerships that enhance patient experiences and health outcomes across Gippsland.

The role of the Community Participation Officer is:

  • Identify and develop opportunities for community engagement through giving, volunteering, and advocacy.
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, engaging with supporters and prospective donors.
  • Promote and administer LRH’s Community Champions Volunteer Program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, businesses, schools, and community groups.
  • Maintain accurate databases of community contacts, volunteers, and donors, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create targeted messages and promotional materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate participation initiatives, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally experienced with donor or volunteer database system.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse individuals and groups.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in healthcare or non-for-profit sectors, event planning or public speaking, ad familiarity with local community networks (desirable).
