Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Cardiologist to join our growing team on a part time fixed term basis.

 

The Cardiologist provides highquality specialist cardiology services to patients at Latrobe Regional Health across inpatient and outpatient settings. This senior medical role is responsible for delivering safe, evidencebased, personcentred care in accordance with clinical governance requirements, hospital policies and bestpractice standards. In addition to direct clinical care, the position plays a key role in supervising and training junior medical staff, contributing to multidisciplinary care, and supporting service development aligned with organisational priorities.

The role of the Cardiologist is to:

  • Deliver highquality cardiology care across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring alignment with clinical guidelines, safety standards and organisational policies.
  • Develop and implement personcentred treatment plans, ensuring effective documentation, communication and continuity of care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching to junior medical staff, medical students and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external providers, including general practitioners, to support coordinated and integrated care delivery.
  • Participate in clinical governance, including development and review of protocols, policies and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to service planning, hospital activities and participation in oncall and ward service rosters relevant to the specialty.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  •  MBBS (or equivalent) with current registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Cardiology.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise commensurate with a specialist Cardiologist.
  • A strong commitment to patientcentred care, clinical quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior medical staff and contribute to education across disciplines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving service demands and organisational priorities.
