Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for Director of Nursing Mental Health to join our growing team on a Full-time (1.0 EFT) ongoing basis.

The role of the Director of Nursing Mental Health is
- Provide professional and strategic leadership to the mental health nursing workforce across acute, community, and residential services.
- Develop and implement the Mental Health Nursing Strategy, aligned with LRH’s vision, values, and clinical performance.
- Ensure governance and accountability for nursing standards, workforce planning, credentialing, and clinical performance.
- Lead service reform and improvement initiatives in line with the Royal Commission recommendations, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, and accreditation requirements.
- Build workforce capability through education, research, professional development, and succession planning.
- Advocate for mental health nursing internally and externally, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and innovation.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Significant leadership and management experience in mental health nursing across diverse settings.
- Demonstrated success in workforce planning, service reform and leading change within complex health services.
- In-depth understanding of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, and national accreditation standards.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, advocacy and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced clinical knowledge, with the ability to translate evidence and research into practice and organisational strategy.
- Postgraduate qualifications in management and/or mental health nursing (desirable).
