Position overview
As a Divisional Director of Women’s & Children’s, you will provide operational and strategic leadership to the Division whilst working in partnership with the LRH Executive and General Managers to ensure the delivery of contemporary multidisciplinary models of care and to oversee improvements in the clinical governance systems to support care provision.
The Divisional Director of Women’s & Children’s will have the opportunity to participate in Monash Health Women's and/or Monash Health Children's Hospital Governance and Leadership Committees, to support both the individual and service leadership and capability development between both LRH and Monash Health. This will also involve leading service developments and quality and efficiency improvements aligned to the achievement of priority outcomes and the delivery of Key Performance Indicators and deliverables.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of clinical care provided throughout the division and work towards the provision of best practice care to all patients in the context of current professional knowledge and organisational standards.
- Provide clear leadership to all Women’s and Children’s Specialists at LRH.
- Mentor Clinical Directors and Clinical Team Leads to develop specialty programs that service the needs of the Gippsland community.
- Take a key role in the development of relevant training programs at LRH.
- Work with General Managers to integrate clinical programs across Medical, Nursing and Allied Health teams.
- Provide a point of contact for partners of LRH with regards to Gippsland Women’s and Children’s programs.
- Ensure that the divisional faculty and staff maintain positive working relationships and contact with referring Physicians.
- Provide a supportive learning culture for employees that encourage new ideas and initiatives.
About you
Qualifications and requirements
- MBBS or equivalent essential.
- Fellowship with the RANZCOG or RACP.
- Management experience of a clinical service.
- Demonstrated clinical ability commensurate with that expected of a medical specialist with leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated management ability in clinical program development.
- Ability to communicate with patients and their carers with respect and empathy.
- Professional and personal integrity.
- Flexible and adaptable with organisational change, program needs and requirements.
