Gippsland Health Alliance is looking for Change Manager to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis.

 

The Change Manager plays a critical role in leading and delivering effective change management across Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA) projects, with a strong focus on the people impacts of changes to systems, processes, roles and organisational structures. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role is responsible for designing and implementing change management strategies that maximise staff adoption, minimise resistance and support the achievement of project outcomes. Working within the GPA Project Management Lifecycle Framework, the Change Manager partners closely with clinical, operational, executive and union stakeholders to deliver sustainable change that reflects the complexity of the healthcare environment, including patient safety, workforce capacity and operational continuity.

The role of the Change Manager is to:

  • Lead the design, delivery and governance of change management strategies and plans for GHA program and initiatives, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, budgets and outcomes.
  • Assess organisational readiness, conduct change impact analyses, identify stakeholders and anticipate resistance, implementing proactive mitigation strategies suited to healthcare settings.
  • Partner with executive sponsors, clinical leaders, unions and frontline staff to co-design change approaches that reflect clinical workflows, role journeys and operational realities.
  • Develop and deliver clear, consistent and targeted communication and engagement plans to support adoption across clinical and non-clinical stakeholder groups.
  • Support behavioural change and capability uplift by developing adoption strategies, mentoring project teams and building local change champions to strengthen organisational change capability.
  • Define success measures, monitor performance against change metrics, prepare reports and provide regular updates to management and projects teams.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Extensive experience (5-7 years) in project change management, with demonstrated health sector experience and sound project management capability.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement change strategies that address behavioural change, capability development and confidence with new systems or processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience consulting with executive leaders, clinicians, operational teams and unions.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field, Prosci or PCI accreditation, and experience in delivering change across multi-site or networked public healthcare environments (desirable).
