Gippsland Health Alliance is looking for Senior Project Manager to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis.
The Senior Project Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the planning, execution and successful delivery of complex projects across the Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA) network. Operating within the Project Management Office (PMO) lifecycle, the role ensures adherence to best-practice project management methodologies while providing strategic advice and oversight to project teams and stakeholders. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for mentoring project staff, managing stakeholder relationships across multi-site healthcare environment, and ensuring continuity of operations.

The role of the Senior Project Manager is to:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of complex GHA projects in line with the PMO lifecycle, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives are achieved.
- Provide expert project management advice, guidance and mentorship to Project Managers, Junior Project Managers and Project Officers to support consistent, best-practice delivery.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business cases, project plans, workflow assessments, RAID registers, status reports and statutory reporting.
- Engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders including GHA member health services, vendors, community partners and governance groups to ensure agreed outcomes are delivered.
- Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies and leading timely resolution and escalation where required.
- Provide leadership across governance, resource coordination and vendor management.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Formal project management qualifications (PRINCE2 or PMBOK) and 5-7 years’ experience in senior project management roles.
- Advanced capability in applying structured delivery frameworks, managing complex schedules, budgets and resources, and leading teams to meet defined milestones.
- Strong understanding of change management and business analysis concepts, with the ability to assess and design future-state workflows.
- Experience in delivering projects within the health sector or across multi-site networks, supported by strong Microsoft Office and digital tool capability (desirable).
