Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Graduate Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our growing team on a part time (0.8EFT) fixed term basis.

Located in Gippsland, our Graduate Nursing Program is designed to help you transition confidently to a career in nursing through hands on experience, professional development and strong clinical support.

The Graduate Psychiatric Nursing Program offers fixed-term, part-time positions across a range of specialty pathways, with intakes commencing in January and July 2027.

Mental Health Program Streams

Graduate Psychiatric Nursing Program – 12 months

Build broad clinical experience across mental health settings both inpatient and community based.

Graduate Psychiatric Nursing Program – 24 months

Build broad clinical experience across mental health settings both inpatient and community based.

*Please note that we cannot guarantee a placement in your preferred program. Allocations are based on operational requirements of LRH*

About You

To be successful in this program, you will have:

• Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Eligibility to participate in a Graduate Nurse Program
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or Australian-trained temporary residency with current working rights
• Not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Graduate Nurse/Midwifery Program at a hospital or health service
• A National Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
• Current influenza vaccination, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement

To be considered for the Graduate Nursing Program (GNMP) Match, candidates must apply through both the Latrobe Regional Health website and the PMCV - GNMP portal.

The Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) manages the matching process by collecting candidate preferences and referee reports, while health services assess and rank applicants before positions are allocated.

• Create your PMCV account via the PMCV registration portal
• Register as a candidate through the GNMP website Home - Graduate Nurse Midwifery Program
• Complete and submit your PMCV application (excluding the video interview component)
• Submit your application directly to Latrobe Regional Health (careers portal) and indicate on your application your preference of program.

Provide evidence of an original and valid National Police Record Check, an employee Working with Children Check, and a current season influenza vaccine (if applicable to work area), unless a valid medical exemption applies.
