Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for multiple HOPE Wellbeing Support Workers to join our growing team on a part-time basis.
This is a unique graduate opportunity to join the Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Program — a vital Victorian Government initiative supporting people following a suicidal crisis.
The HOPE Program provides 12 weeks of assertive, community-based aftercare, delivering integrated clinical, psychosocial and peer support tailored to each consumer’s needs. About the role
As a HOPE Wellbeing Support Worker, you will provide non-therapeutic psychosocial support to consumers experiencing suicidality. Under the guidance of experienced clinicians, you’ll work collaboratively with individuals to identify goals, strengthen connections, and build capacity to engage in everyday life.
Your work will include:
- Providing psychosocial, recovery-oriented support aligned with consumer goals
- Assisting consumers to access community services, housing, education, employment and social supports
- Working closely with clinicians, families, carers and external agencies
- Supporting safety planning, referrals, advocacy and through-care planning
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and contributing to service improvement
- Participating in comprehensive training in suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, cultural safety and inclusive practice
You will be supported through regular supervision, discipline-specific support, and mandatory evidence-based training, including the Suicide Prevention Mandatory Training Program (SSIT).
Working Together | We will respond to challenges together to create a safe, quality health service
About you

- An understanding of psychosocial risk factors associated with suicidality
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
