Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Haematologist to join our growing team on either a part time fixed term basis.

 

The Haematologist provides high-quality, person-centred haematology care across inpatient and outpatient settings at Latrobe Regional Health. This senior medical role is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based clinical care, supervising and supporting junior medical staff, and contributing to the achievement of LRH’s strategic priorities. The position plays a key role in service development, clinical governance, education and continuous improvement within Cancer Services and the broader organisation.

The role of the Haematologist is to:

  • Deliver high-quality haematology care in inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring clinical practice aligns with LRH policies, procedures, safety standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Develop, implement and review treatment plans thar reflect patient needs and promote continuity of care through clear communications with multidisciplinary teams and community providers.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and education to junior medical staff, medical students and trainees, ensuring clinical competence, safe practice and professional development.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including documentation, data analysis, protocol development, quality improvement initiatives and resolution of clinical issues.
  • Contribute to service planning, policy development and improvement initiatives, supporting LRH service agreements and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call and ward service rosters, professional development activities, teaching programs and hospital-wide or professional organisation activities.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Fellowship of the RACP in Clinical Haematology, or joint Fellowship of the RACP and RCPA in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology (or equivalent), with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise commensurate with a specialist haematologist, with a commitment to person-centred care, safety and quality improvement.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience in supervising, mentoring and developing junior medical staff and students.
  • Adaptability, resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic healthcare environment.
