Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Mental Health Community Clinician – Infant, Child & Youth to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

 

About the Role

 

Based within the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICY) in the Latrobe Valley, this position provides high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions to infants, children and young people aged 0 - 25 years experiencing serious mental health concerns.

 

Working as part of a multidisciplinary community team, you will manage an allocated caseload and deliver evidence-based care in collaboration with young people, families, carers and key stakeholders. The role operates under the direction of the Senior Clinician and Consultant Psychiatrist and contributes to safe, trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate service delivery.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, formulation and recovery planning
  • Delivering individual, family and multi-modal therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Responding to crisis presentations in collaboration with senior clinicians
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation and KPI reporting
  • Participating in clinical review, supervision and quality improvement activities
  • Working within relevant legislative and policy frameworks, including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, NSQHS standards, and family violence information sharing schemes

About you

 

You are a compassionate, adaptable and highly organised clinician who thrives in a collaborative community setting and is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to infants, children and young people.

 

You will bring:

  • Registration as one of the following:
    • Registered Nurse Division 1 (with postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing)
    • Occupational Therapist (AHPRA registered)
    • Psychologist (AHPRA registered)
    • Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership)
    • Speech Pathologist (eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership, with relevant mental health experience)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in infant, child, adolescent and young adult mental health
  • Experience delivering evidence-based interventions for complex and high-risk presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with families and stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and frameworks including MARAM, FVISS and CISS
  • Current driver’s licence
