Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Emergency Department team either on a full-time or part-time, ongoing basis.

 

In this advanced clinical role, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively to deliver timely, evidence-based care to patients across a diverse range of presentations.

 

You will be integral to improving patient flow and outcomes, with a focus on rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including prescribing medications, ordering diagnostics, and referring to specialist services as required. Operating within a multidisciplinary framework, you will help shape models of care, support continuous quality improvement, and provide clinical leadership to colleagues across the service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced clinical assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and administer medications in accordance with legislative requirements and professional scope of practice.
  • Provide patient-centred care across all age groups, with a primary focus on the Emergency Department’s Fast-Track area.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure coordinated and high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and clinical guideline reviews.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to other nursing staff, supporting professional development and promoting best practice standards.

 

About You

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • A Board-approved Nurse Practitioner qualification at Master’s level (or equivalent).
  • At least three years’ full-time advanced practice nursing experience within the past six years.
  • Proven clinical expertise in emergency or acute care settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to evidence-based, patient-focused care.
