Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is currently seeking dedicated and experienced Oncology Nurse Practioner to join our Chemotherapy Unit. This position is on an ongoing, full time basis. 

 

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner (ONP) is an advanced Practice Nurse, endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), to practice within the Oncology speciality under the legislatively protected title, Nurse Practitioner. The ONP is a recognised expert Clinical Practitioner and a clinical leader, with the advanced knowledge, clinical skills and recognised competence.

 

The ONP provides advanced nursing care to oncology and haematology patients at LRH, and may develop a role with other oncology/haematology patients in Gippsland. 

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA. 
  • Evidence of recent professional development is desirable. 
  • Membership of a professional nursing organisation is desirable. 
  • The ability to demonstrate dynamic practice that incorporates application of high-level knowledge and skills in extended practice acros stable, unprediactable and complex situations. 
  • The ability to demonstrate professional efficancy, whereby practice is structed in a nursing model and enhanced by autonomy and accountability, deomonstrating Management of Care. 
  • The ability to demonstrate clinical leadership, that influences and progresses clinical care, Policy and collaboration, through all levels of the Health Service. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary service delivery framework.
  • Advanced leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team.
