Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health is seeking an experienced and qualified Registered Psychiatric Nurses Grade 4 and Grade 3, Social Worker Grade 3, Occupational Therapist Grade 3 or Psychologist Level 3 to join the Psychiatric Emergency Care Team (PECT) in the Emergency Department and Mental Health Telephone Triage on a full-time ongoing basis, Part-Time and Fixed Term Contracts with LRH will also be considered.

The Senior Clinician – PECT in conjunction with the PECT Manager and the Consultant Psychiatrist shall assist with the provision of high-quality specialist mental health services across Acute and urgent Inpatient referral and assessment services and Mental Health and Police Response. The Senior Clinician PECT provides direction and support for the daily operational activities of the team and assists with workforce development and workload management.

About you

The Senior Clinician PECT undertakes a comprehensive assessment, care coordination, evidence based treatment, psycho-education and consumer and family collaboration.

 We are looking for candidates with:

  • Registered Nurse Division 1* or 3, or Degree in Occupational Therapy, with current registration with AHPRA or
  • Appropriate post graduate qualification in Psychology, with current registration with AHPRA or
  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work, with eligibility for membership to AASW or
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology, or equivalent, with eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Minimum 4 years post registration experience in Mental Health
  • Experience working in acute adult services, triage service and/or mental health emergency department
  • The ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to mental health consumers
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Capacity to work effectively within a team structure and as a sole clinician
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external services
  • Working knowledge of NSQHS 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
