Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Anaesthetics Fellow to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term basis.

 

The Anaesthesia Medicine Fellowship provides a unique transitiontospecialist opportunity, combining advanced anaesthetic training at Latrobe Regional Health with specialist retrieval medicine experience through Adult Retrieval Victoria. The Fellowship is designed to support the development of confident, independent anaesthetists with strong clinical, leadership and retrieval medicine capabilities.

 

The position offers exposure to a broad range of anaesthetic practice, including obstetrics, paediatrics, thoracic, vascular, ENT, orthopaedic, urological and general surgery, alongside dedicated experience in retrieval medicine across fixedwing, rotarywing and road transport settings. Fellows are supported through highquality supervision, mentorship and opportunities to develop skills in education, quality improvement and regional healthcare leadership.

The role of the Anaesthetics Fellow is to:

  • Deliver highquality anaesthetic care across a diverse range of specialties, including emergency and elective surgical services, perioperative medicine and regional anaesthesia.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to afterhours oncall services, functioning with increasing independence under consultant supervision.
  • Participate in education, simulation and training activities, including supervision and support of junior medical staff, trainees, medical students and nursing staff.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety, research, informatics or educational projects that support service development and patient outcomes.
  • Engage in professional development, mentorship and leadership opportunities to support the transition to specialist practice in regional healthcare settings.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Successful completion of the ANZCA Fellowship Examination, or eligibility to sit the examination within the next 12 months (or equivalent international training pathway).
  • The clinical competence and confidence required to participate in oncall services with remote consultant supervision.
  • A strong commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and evidencebased practice.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: quality improvement, safety, research, informatics or medical education.
  • A collaborative, professional and respectful approach, with a commitment to ongoing learning, leadership development and regional healthcare delivery.
