Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for Psychiatry Registrar to join our growing team on a full-time fixed term basis until January 2027.
The Psychiatry Registrar provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad training experience in accordance with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) requirements. Registrars rotate through a range of mental health service areas, working under supervision while supporting consumers, carers and facilities across the Gippsland region.

The role of the Psychiatry Registrar is:
- Deliver high-quality psychiatric car under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team activities such as handovers, case reviews and care planning.
- Undertake bio-psycho-social and risk assessments, and contribute to the development of treatment and discharge plans.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, interns and medical students.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and LRH policies.
- Participate in after-hours on-call duties and medical emergencies.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHRPA.
- Enrolment in, or progression towards, fellowship of the RANZCP.
- Strong clinical skills appropriate to your stage of training, with an understanding of the Mental Health and Welling Act.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A professional approach, demonstrating integrity, adaptability, empathy and respect in all interactions.
