Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Psychologist - Paediatric Rehabilitation to join our growing team on a part time (16 hours per week), fixed term basis (12 months parental leave).

 

About the Role

This position will provide psychology services to children (and their families) with chronic and/or complex presenting issues requiring rehabilitation. This includes physical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, spinal cord injury and diseases, orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, and functional neurological disorders.

 

The Psychologist – Paediatric Rehabilitation will be responsible for:

  • Provide a full range of psychology services -  including psychological assessment, diagnosis and goal-based intervention for children and adolescents in the outpatient setting
  • Develop psychology treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the patient, family and other team members
  • Prepare psychological reports, and provide effective verbal and written feedback to referrers and patients
  • Provide psychoeducation and feedback for patients and their families
  • Provide expert secondary consultation to the team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders regarding the formulation, treatment and management of patients with complex presentations in the service
  • Identify and refer to appropriate ongoing psychological support as part of discharge planning, where appropriate
  • Provide clinical supervision to Grade 1 & 2, psychology staff, registrars, and post-graduate students

About you

  • Hold an endorsement in Clinical Psychology from the Psychology Board of Australia 
  • Minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent)
  • Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in providing evidence-based clinical psychological assessments, reports, formulation, intervention and evaluation of outcomes with adult consumers
  • Experience working in a multi disciplinary team and providing secondary consultation
