We’re currently seeking a psychologist who thrives in a dynamic, hospital-based environment and is passionate about contributing to positive patient outcomes and safe transitions of care. This is a part time (16 hours) per week on going position.

About the Role

The position provides psychology services to children (and their families) with chronic and/or complex presenting issues requiring rehabilitation. This includes physical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, spinal cord injury and diseases, orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, and functional neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of psychology services to VPRS Latrobe Regional Health including psychological assessment, diagnosis and goal-based intervention for children and adolescents in the outpatient setting
  • Develop psychology treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the patient, family and other team members, focussing on maximising participation in lifetime everyday activities and lifetime opportunities
  • Prepare psychological reports, and provide effective verbal and written feedback to referrers, patients and others
  • Provide psychoeducation and feedback for VPRS patients and their families 

 About you

  • Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and consent to ongoing registration checks by Latrobe Regional Health
  • Hold an endorsement in Clinical Psychology from the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent)
  • Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor
