We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Administrative Officer on a part-time (72 hours per fortnight) to provide high-quality support to visiting specialists and their patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, ensuring seamless administrative operations and a welcoming environment for patients and families.

 

About the Role

As an Administrative Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing professional and efficient reception services. This position is based within the Private Consulting Rooms and is central to supporting both patients and visiting doctors.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a welcoming and professional reception service for patients and carers.
  • Managing patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Handling telephone enquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Providing secretarial and clerical support to visiting doctors.
  • Processing Medicare and payment transactions.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient records and information.
  • Coordinating Telehealth consultations and managing office correspondence.
  • Supporting the upkeep of a professional and tidy office and waiting area.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Strong administrative and clerical skills, with experience in a busy office or clinic.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and general office procedures.
  • A flexible, adaptable and professional approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Formal training in Office Administration. (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical administration role. (Desirable)
