Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Registered Midwife to join our growing team on either a full time or part time basis.
As a Registered Midwife, you will work across the full scope of midwifery practice, delivering high-quality, family-centred care within Women’s & Children’s Services. The role offers opportunities to rotate across pregnancy clinics, the Pregnancy Assessment Unit, birthing, postnatal and domiciliary midwifery services, supporting continuity of care for women and families. The role of the Registered Midwife is to:
- Deliver safe, efficient and family-centred midwifery care as a part of multidisciplinary team, meeting the needs of women and their families.
- Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of maternity care in collaboration with women and the wider health care team.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and changes in a women’s or newborn’s condition, escalating and seeking support appropriately.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of midwifery care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including assessments, care plans, progress notes and referrals.
- Practise within scope of practice, respect cultural values, beliefs and dignity, and support diversity and individual family choice.
- Contribute to quality and safety initiatives, professional development, research, mentoring and policy or clinical guideline development.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- A qualification in Midwifery (or Nursing and Midwifery), with eligibility for AHPRA registration as Registered Midwife and completion of Midwifery Graduate Year or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to experience, with a commitment to delivering excellent consumer outcomes.
- High quality written documentation skills and the ability to contribute positively to team-based care.
- Adaptability, compassion, empathy and respect when caring for women, babies and families from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, quality improvement and Continuum of Care standards.
