Are you a Registered Midwife with a passion for providing exceptional, women-centred care? At Latrobe Regional Health (LRH), we’re looking for enthusiastic midwives to join our Thomson Unit – a dynamic, supportive environment where you can work across the full scope of midwifery practice.

 

You’ll have the opportunity to rotate through pregnancy clinics, assessment, birthing suites, postnatal, and domiciliary midwifery, providing comprehensive, family-centred care. With flexible shift patterns (4–12 hours) and both part-time and full-time roles available, we’ll support you in creating the right work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, family-focused care across pregnancy, birthing, postnatal and domiciliary settings.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in partnership with women and their families.
  • Respond effectively to clinical changes and emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive health outcomes.
  • Contribute to education, clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with LRH requirements and professional standards.
  • Respect and support the rights, cultural values and dignity of all families.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement, risk management and patient safety initiatives.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife (Division 1)
  • Recent experience across all aspects of midwifery practice
  • Strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, women-centred care
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation skills
  • Ability to adapt, collaborate and contribute to a learning culture
  • A passion for providing care that respects diversity, dignity and cultural values
