Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Registered Nurse – Theatre Discovery Program to join our growing team on a part-time (0.8EFT) fixed term basis for 12 months commencing in 2026.

 

A unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to join our 12-month program Discovery Program in Theatre. This development initiative is designed to broaden your clinical skills and knowledge in a specialised area of theatre through hands-on experience, mentorship and structured study days. You will gain exposure to perioperative nursing while being supported in your professional growth. The program is an ideal pathway to postgraduate study and future career advancement.

The role of the Registered Nurse – Theatre Discovery Program is:

  • Participate fully in the Discovery Program, including rostered shifts and study days.
  • Gain practical experience in Theatre, supported by clinical educators and mentors.
  • Complete all assessment tasks and program requirements within the 12-month period.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with ANMAC Standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 1-year post graduate clinical experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support competency and up-to-date mandatory training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-orientated, adaptable, and committed to high standards of care.
  • Motivated to pursue further learning and career development.
