Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) to join our growing on a part time (0.2EFT) fixed term until 30 June 2027. Multiple positions available.

 

The Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) provides valuable support to the nursing team by assisting Registered Nurses in the delivery of delegated aspects of patient care. Working within a supportive clinical environment, you will gain hands-on healthcare experience while continuing your studies, contributing to safe, high-quality and person-centred care across Latrobe Regional Health.

 

This role offers nursing students the opportunity to apply their developing clinical knowledge in practice, build professional skills and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while completing their Bachelor of Nursing qualification.

The role of the Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON is to:

  • Assist Registered Nurses with delegated patient care activities, ensuring care is delivered safely and in accordance with your assessed competence and scope of practice.
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene, while maintaining dignity, comfort and respect.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to person-centred care and contribute to positive patient experiences and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support efficient and effective patient care delivery.
  • Communicate and escalate clinical concerns promptly to the supervising Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain compliance with organisational policies, professional standards and academic requirements throughout your employment.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing.
  • Demonstrated progress within a Bachelor of Nursing program, with successful clinical placement experience and a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care while working within a delegated scope of practice.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance study requirements with clinical responsibilities.
  • Well-developed personal attributes including integrity, adaptability, teamwork, respect and professionalism.
