Gippsland Health Alliance is looking for Clinical Systems Analyst to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis (multiple positions available).

 

The Senior Clinical Systems Analyst provides advanced leadership, analytical expertise and technical authority across clinical information systems with Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA). This senior role leads the analysis, design, configuration and optimisation of complex clinical systems to ensure they support safe, high-quality and efficient patient across member health services. Working in a multi-site environment, the role drives clinical system governance, change management, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement aligned with best-practice clinical informatics, interoperability standards and digital health strategy.

The role of the Senior Clinical Systems Analyst is to:

  • Lead analysis, design and optimisation of complex clinical workflows, translating clinical and operational requirements into effective system configuration and functionality.
  • Provide senior level consultancy to clinical and operational stakeholders, guiding system enhancements, interoperability design and clinical informatics best practice.
  • Lead clinical systems implementation and upgrade activities, including current-state/future-state analysis, change management, risk assessment, test, go-live and benefits realisation.
  • Act as escalation point for complex incidents and system issues, conducting root-cause analysis and developing preventative strategies to enhance safety and reliability.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training, competency frameworks and learning resources for end-users and super-suers, supporting sustained adoption and system optimisation.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management, IT, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics or a related discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in clinical systems or health informatics roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of hospital workflows, patient safety principles and clinical data standards.
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to EMR or enterprise clinical system implementations across multi-site health services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability, with experience influencing senior clinicians, executives, vendors and cross-functional teams in complex governance environments.
  • Advanced analytical, organisational and leadership skills, with a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and high-performance team culture (postgraduate qualifications or ITIL/PM certifications desirable).
