Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist – NDIS & Complex Discharge Lead to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term until 15 May 2027.

 

LRH is seeking an experienced Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist to provide expert leadership and guidance in complex discharge planning across all inpatient’s units. This pivotal role focuses on supporting teams to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other complex systems, ensuring timely and effective discharge for patients with disabilities and chronic health conditions. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor staff, and lead initiatives that enhance organisational capability, patient outcomes, and service efficiency.

The role of the Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist – NDIS & Complex Discharge Lead is:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and expert advice on complex discharge planning and NDIS processes.
  • Deliver primary and secondary consultations for complex cases and support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop evidence-based resources, education programs, and service models to improve patient care.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders including NDIA and community services.
  • Lead and evaluate quality improvement projects, research, and initiatives that enhance discharge pathways.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to bed flow and patient outcomes, using data to inform service improvements.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Bachelor or Mater’s degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
  • Extensive experience in hospital-based occupational therapy and complex discharge planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of NDIS processes and disability services.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Postgraduate qualifications and 7+ years of clinical and leadership experience (desirable).
