Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Senior Clinician to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

 

About the Role

 

YPARC delivers short-term, residential treatment and recovery-focused support to young people aged 16–25 experiencing mental and emotional health challenges. The service operates 24/7 in a purpose-built, home-like environment and is delivered in partnership with MIND Australia, supporting early intervention and recovery-oriented care.

The Senior YPARC Clinician provides advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and operational oversight within the YPARC program. This role combines high-level clinical practice with service coordination, workforce development, and clinical governance responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Advanced Clinical Practice

  • Conduct comprehensive mental state, psychosocial and physical health assessments
  • Develop and review recovery-oriented care plans in collaboration with consumers and carers
  • Deliver counselling, therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation tailored to young people
  • Administer and monitor medications, including pharmacological education
  • Manage complex clinical presentations and provide secondary consultation
  • Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation

 

Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to multidisciplinary staff
  • Support daily service coordination and workload prioritisation
  • Promote and embed the YPARC recovery-oriented model of care
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, mentoring and workforce development
  • Deputise for the General Manager Acute & Bed Based Mental Health as required

 

Clinical Governance & Quality Improvement

  • Contribute to incident review, risk assessment and service evaluation processes
  • Support compliance with the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014 and national standards
  • Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Foster a proactive and positive risk culture

 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead inter-agency liaison for the YPARC cohort
  • Strengthen partnerships between LRH and MIND Australia
  • Engage consumers and carers in planning and service improvement

About you

 

You are a confident and compassionate senior clinician who thrives in youth mental health settings and is passionate about recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 with post-basic qualification in Mental Health Nursing and current AHPRA registration
    OR relevant Allied Health qualification with current registration/eligibility
  • Minimum 4 years post-registration experience in mental health
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior or leadership role
  • Sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014 and national standards
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Strong computer literacy

 

Desirable

  • Experience in youth mental health or residential rehabilitation
  • Experience in service development or quality improvement
  • Understanding of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System reforms
  • Graduate Certificate in Developmental Psychiatry (DPC) or equivalent
