Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Trade Cook to join our growing team on a casual basis.

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality melas for patients, staff and visitors, ensuring food safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This is great opportunity for someone passionate about food service in a healthcare setting, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.

The role of the Trade Cook is:

• Prepare and cook meals, including therapeutic diets, following standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and LRH’s Food Safety Program.
• Manage ordering, receipt, and storage of goods, ensuring quality and minimising waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and work areas.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and meet key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with the Food Services team to deliver efficient and customer focused service.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

• Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent as a trade cook (mandatory)
• Completion of an accredited food handling course (mandatory)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and kitchen ordering processes (desirable)

Now is an exciting time to join the LRH team, with the $223.5 million expansion completed in March 2024, offering improved maternity and paediatric facilities, larger intensive care unit, increased medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
