Latrobe Regional Health is looking for General Medicine Registrar (Unaccredited) to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term basis.

 

The General Medicine Registrar provides high-quality clinical care to patients across LRH General Medical Units. This role involves supervising and training junior medical staff, supporting multidisciplinary care, and contributing to LRH’s strategic priorities. The registrar plays a key role in diagnosis, treatment, discharge planning, and ensuring safe, person-centred care.

The role of the General Medicine Registrar is:

  • Deliver high-level clinical care to patients in the general medicine units.
  • Collaborate with consultants, HMOs, and interns on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Ensure timely clinical communication and escalation of care issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and review patients daily.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality care.
  • Teach and supervise interns and medical students.
  • Design discharge plans considering patient needs and community resources.

 

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent degree with current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience and RACP registration.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in medical assessment and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and health professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage priorities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and high standards of patient care.
