Gippsland Local Health Service Network is looking for Executive Director to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term basis.
The Executive Director GLHSN is a senior executive role responsible for leading the strategic direction, governance, and system-wide coordination of eight public health across Gippsland. The role builds strong relationships with CEOs, Boards, executive teams, and government to ensure regional planning, reform implementation, and delivery of the Victorian Health Services Plan recommendations. This position oversees the development of the Network’s strategic plan, manages program delivery, and drives collaborative, high-quality and sustainable healthcare outcomes that ensure communities across Gippsland receive safe, person-centred care as close to home as possible.

The role of the Executive Director GLHSN is to:
- Lead the development and execution of whole-of-region strategy, vision and values.
- Provide high-level strategic advice, including preparation of reports, submissions, funding applications and annual budgets, while monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement.
- Oversee governance systems, project scope, risk management and change processes to support consistent execution of Network-wide priorities and Statements of Expectations.
- Strengthen collaborative decision-making across member health services by facilitating alignment, guiding implementation activities, and coordinating education and capability-building.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading stakeholder engagement frameworks and representing the Network at high-level forums.
- Manage the Network’s budget, procurement, and contract activities, ensuring compliance, financial stewardship and effective vendor performance.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role, with at least five years of senior experience in governance, strategy, planning, program management or improvement leadership.
- Advanced governance capability and detailed knowledge of regulatory and policy frameworks that inform long-term health system planning.
- Proven strategic leadership in networked or regional settings, including guiding teams through large-scale transformational change.
- Strong stakeholder-engagement experience, with the ability to influence and build relationships across CEOs, Boards, Clinicians, government and community partners.
- Highly developed emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in written and verbal forms.
- A commitment to system improvement, collaboration, innovation and maintaining high standards of accountability and performance.
