Acting Director of Community Care

1.0 EFT, full time, fixed term, leave back fill position
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and capable leader to step into an Acting Director of Community Care role for a fixed-term period of up to 12 months, providing backfill while the substantive Director takes Long Service Leave.
The Director of Community Care (DCC) is a key role responsible for the leadership, management and strategic development of the South Gippsland Hospital Home and Centre based Community Care services. The position also provides clinical oversight of all Allied Health and Aged Care services across the organisation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain executive-level experience, contribute to strategic decision-making, and further develop leadership capability within a supportive and collaborative environment. Working closely with the Executive team and Board, the successful applicant will provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction, ensuring continuity of services and organisational priorities during the leave period.
To be suitable for this role you must have:
- Significant, recent experience in health service leadership and people management, including motivational team development and change management
- Demonstrated leadership, with sound knowledge of current best practice in Community Care settings and programs, Including Aged Care services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant statutory obligations and experience in policy development to ensure safe, high quality patient care
- High level strategic planning skills with experience in implementation of strategic priorities
- Demonstrated experience in effective financial management at a Directorate level
- High level interpersonal communication skills and significant stakeholder management experience
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, encompassing quality improvement
