South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) is a public rural health service providing integrated acute hospital and community care services. Care is delivered in the hospital and within our Community Health Centre, Banksia Centre, and in clients’ homes across the region. In partnership with the doctors of Foster Medical Centre, SGH supports the health and wellbeing of the Corner Inlet communities.

South Gippsland Hospital is seeking a friendly and proactive Administration Clerk to join our Community Health team. As first point of contact for clients, visitors and clinicians, you'll help create positive experiences while providing vital administrative support that keeps services running smoothly. In this dynamic role, you'll:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, visitors and staff.
  • Welcome and assist visitors, answer enquiries and manage incoming calls.
  • Coordinate appointments, clinic bookings, meeting rooms and hospital vehicles.
  • Support Allied Health Clinicians, District Nurses and Management with essential administrative tasks.
  • Prepare, maintain and archive client records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Process referrals, correspondence, mail, scanning, filing and data entry.
  • Manage client payments, receipting, banking processes and financial reporting tasks.
  • Ensure clinicians have the information and documentation they need to deliver high-quality care.
  • Help maintain a safe, accessible and welcoming environment for all community members.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support the delivery of healthcare services.

To be successful in the role, you must be:

  • Friendly, approachable and passionate about helping people with a commitment to quality customer service
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional communicator with a confident phone manner and strong teamwork skills
  • Proficient in using computer systems and administrative software to support efficient service delivery
  • Flexible, reliable and committed to confidentiality, accuracy and supporting colleagues when needed
