Graduate Diploma of Midwifery Student

0.63 EFT- 0.84 EFT – part time, fixed term 24 months (Feb 2027 -Feb 2029)

South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) is seeking a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join our Nursing and Midwifery Team. We offer the Employment model for students studying the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery part time over 2 years at Federation University Gippsland Campus. There is an allocation (as per the EBA) of paid study days. In addition to the normal role of a registered nurse Grade 2 at SGH the student midwife will be expected to undertake theoretical and practical components of the Post Graduate Diploma of Midwifery course. This will include attending births, antenatal clinic and other aspects of the midwifery course as required during supernumerary time.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Current Registration with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board as a Registered Nurse
• Ability to provide evidence-based nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work across all shifts on the roster including night duty and weekends
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in nursing 
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
