Health and Safety Officer

Grade 3 (HS3)

0.42 EFT, (32 hours per fortnight) permanent part time position

South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) is seeking employ a Health and Safety Officer.

 

Working closely with the Chief Warden/Safety Officer (Facilities Manager), Executive Team and the Learning and Development Unit, you will support the proactive management of Health and Safety programs, systems and risks associated with operations for employees, volunteers, patients and visitors to SGH.

 

To be suitable for this role you must have

  • Qualification in Health & Safety or related field
  • Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Officer
  • Previous experience in developing, coordinating and delivering presentations and training.
  • Understanding of legislation, regulations, compliance codes and standards relevant to Occupational Health and safety 
  • Experience in reporting with attention to detail, including developing and monitoring KPI's and reporting on program implementation 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in word processing, database and spreadsheet skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office program
  • Completion or willingness to complete the WorkSafe endorsed 5-day OHS training mandated by WorkSafe Victoria
