Lifestyle Assistant

Andrews House Residential Aged Care Facility – Trafalgar

Permanent part time position, up to 24 hours per fortnight available

Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant, Grade 1 (IN31 - $28.84 p/h) or Grade 2 (IN32 - $31.65 p/h)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of a leisure and lifestyle assistant. Reporting to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Facility Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides the support and entertainment to residents living at Andrews House. This stimulating role would suit someone enthusiastic, creative, flexible, enjoys working within a team and is dedicated to providing great service to their client group.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle or Leisure or Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistant
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements.
  • Responsible and mature work attitude.
  • A Driver’s license (willing to drive a 10-seater vehicle) 
  • Basic computer skills (including Microsoft applications and willing to learn the facilities recording system) 
  • Willing to work the occasional weekend

The following experience/qualifications would be also considered advantageous:

  • Previous experience in Residential Aged care – Lifestyle programs
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and document control.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
